Freycinet Vineyards Pinot Noir: Caressing & Elegant W/ Intensity

There is something really special I think about reaching a vineyard site & discovering how really beautiful it is. It is almost like being in a dream..

Even better is meeting the owner of the property & feel his deep love for his land, his deep understanding of it, and his humility towards it. It is very humbling & always leaves me in a state of deep introspection for quite a few hours & sometimes days afterwards...

Here, on meeting Claudio Radenti, it was as if time stopped. As if entering a far away kingdom in which time, space, & any other dimensions of the so-called real world did not exist. We talked, we walked, we tasted, and I could feel the love & the tremendous satisfaction that he has for "making people happy"...

His land is located in a very unique area of Tasmania's East Coast. Shape like an amphiteatre, it traps heats & favour ripening beautiful fruits.

We tasted several Pinot Noirs, the 2012 & 2009 among others. These were elegant, caressing, w/ beautifully interwoven aromatic complexity. The 2012, vibrant & crisp, while the 2009 understated & worldy.

What surprised me upon finishing tasting 11 of his wines, is that all of them had an amazing intensity of finish, a vibrancy & life that I have found only in the greatest wines of this world...

Wonderful wines!
