Torrontés, Another Comparative Tasting... & A "Coup De Foudre"!

Some will say that, on this trip, I spend way too much attention to Torrontés with regards to my exam as the likeliness for it to show in June is actually very small.  

Well, I will say that sometimes, we must mix business with pleasure to keep the passion going! As I mentioned in a previous post, I am not ashamed to say that I love the grape.  This tasting was worth the time & resources as I discovered my top favorite after tasting and tasting a innumerable amount, most, frankly disappointing.

This flight, however has mixed results.  The good news though is that now, I perfectly well know which gives me excellent pleasure.

Chacra Cincuenta y Cinco Patagonia Pinot Noir 2012... A delightful surprise...

Sometimes, the reasons for my choice of wine can be pretty shallow...or deeply subconcsious... 

Here is a wine that I selected solely based on its label.  Its name, Chacra, made me think of the sanskrit word "charkra" which means "center of energy".  As I was also concentrated on buying other wines for later posts (on malbec & again on Torrontés), I did not pay more attention to the label until I pulled the cork 10 minutes ago...  It turns out that this "Chacra", which apparently means "farm" in the local language, was made biodynamically by an Italian, Piero Incisa Della Rocchetta, grandson of the fabled creator of the Italian Icon Sassicaia...
